To cut short a v long story on startup I have XP home edition and XP setup tp choose from. I've tried to delete setup from boot log but it won't let me and then says it is read only. When I search the boot log file I cannot find it

Hi,

Control Panel/System/Advanced tab/Startup and Recovery Settings, click the
"edit" button. Remove the unwanted line from the [operating systems]
section. Click file/save and close.
