I would like my Microsoft Works Calender to come on when i startup my
computer, i am running Windows xp, how do i get it on every time i start.

Find "My Computer"on the desktop or in the programs portion of the "Start
Menu".Set the "Veiw" option in the menu bar to "Icon". Open the Program
Files folder in "My Computer", then open the Microsoft Works folder inside
the "Program Files" folder. Make a copy of the executable file (Has file
extension (.EXE) after it). I don't use Microsoft works, so I don't know
what name it will actually be given, but it will most probably be something
like "calen.exe, Cal.exe, Calender.exe" or something similar. This is the
file that launches the calender program from a windows environment. Drag and
drop the copied executable file into the folder at the end of this
Path.....My Computer\Local Disk C:\Documents and Settings\Louis's
Documents\Start Menu. Close everything up and next time you boot your
machine, it should launch the Calender Program right after it loads any TSR's
you have.

wkscal.exe is the Microsoft® Works Calendar.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared\wkscal.exe

WkCalRem.exe is the Microsoft® Works Calendar Reminder Service.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared\WkCalRem.exe.

You have to set a reminder to get WkCalRem.exe to pop up a message to that
effect.

From Works HELP...
[[A reminder is a message that notifies you of an upcoming appointment. You
can specify when you want the reminder to appear. For example, if you set a
reminder for a birthday, you may want the reminder to appear several days
before the birthday. Or, if you set a reminder for doctor's appointment,
you may want it to appear an hour before the appointment.

1 Click the appointment (a meeting that takes place within a specific time
of day) you want to set a reminder for.

2 On the File menu, click Open Appointment.

3 In the Reminder list, click the time when you want the reminder to occur.

4 Click OK. ]]

To get just the calendar to start when you boot, place a shortcut to
wkscal.exe in C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Start Menu.

Thanks Wesley, I had to put it in C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Start
Menu\Programs\Startup and then it worked.
