Startup sound does not play at all

When computer starts and logs on no startup sound is
played even though it is setup in the sound and audio
devices properties. In fact it doesn't even play any
sound scheme sounds. These work on another log on
(limited account) except this one (administrator).
Problem, or incorrect setting?

Are the speakers working correctly. I usually troubleshoot sound by putting
in an audio cd, make sure it's running and then follow speaker cords and
work with volume settings until it works. If the audio cd doesn't work,
check to make sure your speakers are hooked up properly and that your sound
card shows up in Device Manager (Right Click My Computer > Properties >
Hardware Tab > Device Manager).

Do you have tweakiu installed? if so on the general tab
make sure that "beep on errors" is checked. If this
doesn't apply to you try this.

However before you do any of this open your sounds
folder on control panel and see if you have a sound scheme
on for the admin account.
