startup question

Hi;

I just installed xp sp2 on a 1.8g system. has a 4gig hard drive.
everything loaded properly.
rebooted ok.
finished setup/installation.. and rebooted to verify everything was fine..
NO... would not reboot... will not go into safe mode..
will not accept f8 key ...

What do you think..
Need more info... ask.. I need help..
