startup problem

looks like you're covered for spyware -- how about the many other forms
of malware?

Google for userinit.exe and see some of the problems and solutions.
Do a search for userinit.exe in this newsgroup and you may find some
helpful info.
If you can somehow load XP, run the free anti-malware program
SuperAntiSpyware.
