though the program is called
winfax, it is not a program
made by microsoft, like
windows is.
however, since you are
seeking some fyi on how
to configure it, you might
find more info from here:
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=winfax+faq&FORM=MSNH11
by configuring winfax via
the above methods, it will
be just as easy to enable it,
like turning a switch on and
off.
however, if you want to
windows to force winfax
from operating (like flipping
a fuse box breaker/switch)
then here are some suggestions:
click on start>run>msconfig
then go to the service tab
and see if winfax has configured
itself to be a service.
if so, then disable it and
reboot.
incidentally there "may" also
be a line item for winfax
under the startup tab that
you can disable.
however it might become inactive
if the service is disabled so you
might want to leave the entry
in the start tab alone.
other methods that you can use
to have windows force that
winfax is not operational are:
1) disabling the modem via
the hardware control panel and
2) disable the fax printer via
the printers control panel.
