Startup - Preparing network connections - 2 minutes

During startup of Win2000 the message 'preparing network
conncections' is displayed, and the systems hangs for 2
minutes. What to change ?

check your network cads and your sever i would say it is a
little slow for your network

The 2 minutes hang appears on a laptop, stand alone, not
connected to any network (not wireless, no cable),...
