Startup message, computer just sits there.

I get the following at Startup, a blackscreen with the the message "Nvidia
Vanta Bios V2.05.13". The Computer just sits in this mode and nothing else
happens.

Any suggestions as to why and how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

When a computer first starts up, it goes through the Power On Self Test
(POST) where it basically finds and tests all its bits and pieces and
then continues on to look for boot files so it can boot the operating
system. Of course this all happens very quickly.

Your computer is not even getting through the POST. This means you have
some hardware component(s) failure. Are there any beeps? If so, what
are they and what motherboard do you have?

Are you able to do advanced hardware testing yourself? If not, take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local
equivalent of BigStoreUSA). Otherwise, post back with answers to the
above questions and a good description of your computer's
specifications.

Sounds like a problem with your vid.card, failed?
Able to boot into safe mode?

Thanks to everyone

I sorted this problem out it was a hardware issue. I took out the battery
from the Motherboard took out the RAM. I then put everything back and hey
presto it started. I then did a complete new install.
