Startup Issues When Workstation Services Is Enabled

I have encountered an odd problem which I cannot seem to resolve. When I have
the "Workstation" service enabled, as it boots up and the Windows desktop
appears, only the wallpaper shows up and the bootup process seems to come to
a screeching halt. No activity takes place for approximately 90 seconds.
Then, everything takes off and works just fine. When I turn the"Workstation"
service off/disable it, the computer boots up just fine. Of course, anything
dependent on that service now does not work. Has anyone seen this before
and/or know what to do about it?

Yes, you are seeing some pause in the seek for DHCP (dynamic IP) You probably have something like a router/HUB combo, or other
hardware config that causes the DNS to 'timeout' before it finds the right IP. I suggest that you set a static IP:

start/run, type:

hh %windir%\Help\tcpip.chm::/sag_tcpip_pro_manualconfig.htm

Thanks, Mark. Unfortunately, I cannot go static. We are not allowed to have
static I/P addresses here. Any idea how I might to able to narrow down what
is looking for that and see if perhaps that is a rogue program which should
not be running?
