Startup Freezes

Hello Support
this is basic troubleshooting and I'm stuck ? I've recently started to
update my computer with the SP2 and when I downloaded the files the box
requested to shutdown. upon restart the system hangs and the OS load is
incomplete. Now
I've have to find a way to get the box to start without losing any files.
This is my main box and it was upgraded from a ME operating system. I don't
have a CD to work with and I don't want to do a clean install. any help would
be greatly appriciated

have you tried safe mod?

hafve you tried to fix using the recovery console?

BTW thanks for the help. Now i've tried safe mode and LKGC mode and have no
results. Recovery Console is good idea but no CD. Would like to remote
connect to solve this issue?

have tried custom startup cannot get to GUI interface. the box freezes before
OS is fully loaded and then restarts. have tried safe mode with all the
above, if there's a way to do command only please explain?

im sure there is a way if u can custom start it but im not knowledgeable in
that area im sure someone else maybe.

The only safe way is to reformat and put it on but i know you dont wana do
that. Or other way is to email Microsoft directly at:

select your country, product and then choose either email, phone, or chat.

Email and chat are deff free, just explain them your problem and im sure if
there is a way they will lead you down a technical easy to understand way of
fixing your computer. sorry im not much more use unless there is someone else.

If i could see the problem physically maybe it would be diff.
