startup failure

I have Windows XP Home Edition. Suddenly on startup, the video display goes
blank (and the monitor 'active' light goes out) when startup gets to the
Windows Home graphic page (the one with the green progress bar). The video
card is OK because I can go into the BIOS setup. All that I 've done recently
is move the machine (involved unplugging everything). Any ideas? Thanks!
 
WAIT a little longer!!!

Windows is trying to Reconfigure your HARDWARE..
 
OK, should 30 mins be long enough? Still nothing happening! I'll leave it for
longer just in case.
