Startup error

when i try and load up windows, the windows XP logo comes up and the little
graphic scroller thing comes up, but it just stays like that and the scroller
just keeps going and i never get into windows. the system doesn't stop, it
just doesn't move on. it only works if i have the windows XP disc in the
cdrom drive for some reason? any help? it doesn't go into safe mode either.

I was just browsing and I am wondering if you have a modern electricity
circuit board/wiring where you use your computer , you know , in your house ?
 
..that post of mine was not at all clear , pardon me .
...it does sound to me like Windows was not installed correctly .
I remember experiencing that very symptom when I tried reinstalling
Windows over an existing Windows installation by choosing the wrong
installation proceedure on the Windows XP installation CD .
Do you need any more help ?
