Starting to install Fax Modem for 2000 Shared Fax Service

Debbie

Hello,

I was starting to install the fax modem and I read that
you should plug the phone cord end into an analog phone
jack. I'm wanting to piggy back off an existing
dedicated fax line, so I was going to use a RJ45 line
splitter to share the line. Now I'm not so sure that I
can do this? I'm a newbi at all this. Any thoughts or
suggestions?

Thanks for your time!

Debbie

That would be an RJ11 splitter and it should work OK with the proviso that
any fax you send with the fax modem will probably be printed by the fax
machine sharing the line.
