Starting MS Outlook

When I try to OPEN Outlook 2003, I get the following message:

"Cannot start MS Office Outlook. Unable to open outlook window. The set of
folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your
administrator if this condition persists." The only option is to click "OK."

This is a standalone desktop computer, about 3 years old. This problem
appeared after I had an intermittent electrical "shutdown" and "restart" -
not uncommon here in FL. HELP!

Did you run Detect/Repair from either Word, or via your Office cd?
Did you also run scanpst.exe against your outlook data file?
If you frequently have electrical supply probs you should invest in a UPS,
electrical shutdowns can cause file corruption & in the worst case cause
mobo damage
