Starting computer with slipstream cd

How do I start my computer with the slipstream cd I created. I've made 2 of
them, one with nlite and the other with autosteamer. I have xp home with sp1
and slipstreamed it with sp2. Now after I put in all my new hardware do I
start my computer with my orig xp home sp1 disk then put in my slipstream one
to do a repair? I was testing them out and neither bootup. I've selected
the cdrom as first bootup but they don't. So I'm stuck not updating my mb
and such till I'm sure they work.

No, you no longer use your original CD at all (put it away for safekeeping).
You boot from the slipstreamed CD.

I was testing

but they don't.

If a bootable CD won't boot, one of three things must be wrong:

1. The CD you think is bootable is actually not bootable (in this case
that's unlikely, because you say the original CD won't boot either).

2. You think you have set the CD first in the boot order, but you haven't
(perhaps you neglected to save the changes).

3. There's something wrong with your CD drive.

i think you may not have
formatted them to be bootable.

have you tried the "ultimate boot cd"?

it's free too.

I did see I didn't make a bootable cd with easy media creator 9. But after
doing so the slipstream cd won't boot. And yes the orig xp home sp1 cd does
boot. Are there files beside the iso file and the boot files emc 9 puts on
the cd do I need to add?

OK I see that I needed to burn an image and not a iso file. Did that,
restarted and it said to boot from cd hit any key. So I did and it still
booted up windows without asking me if I wanted to install, repair or
anything. So I hope it's working. I looked at the disk and it has lots of
files. Is there any key I need to hit to select repair at startup?

If your origonal wincd boots but your slipstreamed ones dont;
either
1) The slipstream/create bootable process went wrong
2) Your cd drive is marginal and it doesnt 'like' the cd's you have used.
Test them, if possible, on another sys.

Well, if I put in the slipstream disk while I'm in windows I get that menu
about if you want to install and the other items. I might try it again, but
windows seem to be doing fine even with my new mb cpu. I reactivated with no
problems and reinstalling ie7 and wmp 11. So is it really nessasary to do a
repair?
