START UP PROBLEMS

C

CRS

Hopefully someone can help, I'm going out my mind!!!
and hopefully this is the correct forum!

Every time I start my PC it goes through the motions and
starts to my desktop, then freezes I then proceed to re-
start and it works fine??? can anyone explain this??

In addition this morning, after serval failed attempts to
get it started I have recieved various error messages,
and being your average PC user I'm not sure what they
mean, can anyone explain what they mean and how to fix
these particularly annoying problems!

Blue Screen error message -
IRQL_NOT LESS OR EQUAL
STOP: 0X0000000A (0X00314000, 0X00000002, 0X00000001,
0X80513ACA)

Windows error message -
BCCode:a, BCPI: 00314000, BCP2: 0000002, BCP3: 0000001,
BCP4:80513ACA, OS VER:5_1_2600, SP:1_0, Product:256_1

I'm running an AMD 2800 with 512MB etc etc so I don't
think my problem is hardware? and definately windows xp!

Please Please can someone shed some light on this?

Just because your system meets the requirements, doesn't mean it isn't
hardware - it could very well be. Nor does it mean it's anything to do with
the OS either. It could be a driver issue, or something else you've
installed - they're nothing to do with the OS are they?

Hi CRS,

That error message indicates a driver issue. Troubleshooting it can be
lengthy. Check that your hardware and the drivers for it meet the
compatibility list:
