Start up problems

Hello all,

I'm having a very annoying problem with my PC. I'm running Windows XP Home
Edition.

SOme time ago, I tried to install a bluetooth dongle I had bought to send
files to my phone. I had already set it up successfully on another XP
computer so didn't think there would be any problems.

However, an error message said it couldn't be installed. Ever since then,
everytime I turn the machine on - I get a box saying Windows is trying to
install the drivers for the bluetooth serial port. I have tried again to
install the dongle, but it still won't work. I have used the "uninstall"
option in the software, but the box still comes up repeatedly (6 times)
whenever I start up the PC. If I keep hitting cancel it eventually gives up
and says, "the software may not work correctly".

I've been told it might be a registry issue with a random file still hanging
around somewhere, but I don't know how I might clear that up.

So, seriously, I would welcome just about any help to get my PC back to full
working order.

Thank you very much in advance!!

Run disk clean up, check to see if the device listed in Device manager, if
it is remove it!.
Also in the Network Connection remove/delete if it there.

Download AutoRuns for Windows v9.0 and remove the entry from the start up list
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

The key will looks like this:
[-]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run = look
in the right pane/window for the Bluetooth and remove that entry.
HTH.
