Start up problems

New computer build.
Installed Windows XP Professional.
Installed all drivers for hardware.
Installed all updates for OS.
When starting the computer from complete shut down, it stops at the Windows
XP logo, restarts and gives the me the option to start in safe mode. If I
select to start normally, it runs through the same process. If I choose to
start in safe mode, it boots fine. Doing a restart from this point will boot
windows normally. Once I am in windows, I can restart without any problems. I
am thinking this is related to one of the updates but don't know where to
start.

Could be a hardware driver issue. Did you install the Manufacture's drivers
from their respective web sites or did you use Microsoft's Windows Update to
install drivers. If you used Windows Update then this could be the problem,
download from the manufacture's web site and re-install/update the drivers.
