when i boot my pc it makes a ding or clicking sound
then eventually it tells me to press ctrl+p or ctrl+f then it boots and
works fine. don"t get any alerts in event log other than w32 time. if
anyone might know what or
how to correct my start-up problem i would deeply
appreciate it . thanks, milt

You shouldnt be prompted to press anything to boot the machine normally,
outside of Ctrl+Alt+Del if you have it turned on. Can you boot the machine
into safe mode by pressing F8 and have it come up without that prompt? If
so, then I would consider using msconfig to troubleshoot what application
might be giving you that prompt.
