I have only discovered today this site's excellent summary of which files can/should be ticked in the Start Up menu from Run/msconfig

I have accordingly cleared out a lot of dross, but still have one file that can't find listed. It is EnDisEU3.

Can anyone advise the purpose of this file, and whether it needs to be launched at Start Up?

Many tks

Do you use or have wireless card/router/modem ?

Using msconfig to stop programs loading is not recommended ... it is a diagnostic tool ... I take it you 'un-installed' the programs in start-up?

No, I don't think I "un-installed" the programs in start-up. All I did was untick the appropriate boxes in the Start Up tab of the System Configuration Folder. I was under the impression this simple stopped the programmes automatically launching at start up. They can still be launched manually?

PS meant to add, yes I do use a BT Wireless Voyager router/modem

No, un-ticking is not the way to go ...

Lets use EnDisEU3 as an example ... you'll be pleased to know it also can be a virus, trojan, spyware, adware. oops.

So what we do is use msconfig to stop it running ... we then test to see if all is working ok, if everything is fine then we need to find that process and un-install or stop it from source. If it is a nastie, run all you got and some.

Where is EnDisEU3 on your system ...is it in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder?

I too have a BT Fusion Wireless Router, but I do not have EnDisEU3 on any of my systems, I have done a search and found no such file and find no listing in msconfig ... however, I did NOT install BTs software. ;)

It is in C:\Program Files\IEEE 802.11b WLAN Utility (USB)
That is fine ... leave it there, do not stop it working. :thumb:
