Over the years I have kept the number of enabled files in Start Up to a tiny handful. But every time I go into the Start Up file I find that Windows Media Player is enabled. So I then disable it.

Next time I go into the file it's enabled again. :wall:

What is going on? Does it enable itself every time WMP is used? And how can I disable it permanently?

It's WMP 11. Your link is for removal of WMP but that's not what I am trying to do. :)

I dunno if this will work for you, but try this ......if you are using Windows XP.....if the WMP icon appears in your taskbar when you start up your computer.....right click on that icon to see if any options appear.....also...you can try Start, all programs, STARTUP...then point your cursor on it and see what appears...if the WMP appears there...right click on it and delete it! :)
