When I boot up my PC, a Windows Explorer window automatically opens up
on the desktop. Same folder every time I boot, a Program Files folder
for an MS application. How can I prevent this window from opening upon
start up? Where do I change this setting?

Thanks-

Will

Look in one of the two startup folders for a reference to this folder
and remove it:

C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If not there go to Start | Run. Type in msconfig. Hit ok. Look on the
start up tab for a reference to this folder and uncheck it.

Older programs will do this. It has to do with the way they were
programmed. Meaning, they were not written for XP. Without knowing
more......
