Start/Search gone missing

Hi. The search function on my XP Home Edition appears to
have gone on strike. I have tried re-installing
srchasst.inf but no dice. NOW what can I do?

Right click on the taskbar and select properties. Goto the Start Menu
Tab>>Customize>>Adcanced Tab>>Scroll down and check search.
