start page stuck on MSN

Hi,

I have installed winxp pro (volume license MSDN) and IE6 is set to have its
home page as the msn site.

No matter what I do, including going into the reg and changing it, it alway
goes to MSN, and just overwrites any reg setting I have.

Changing the home page via 'options' in IE looks like it would work, but the
moment you open up a browser(even if closing all other ones to open a new
one) it goes to MSN.

Sure MSN is a decent web site, but I don't want it as my start page..... Is
this some limit impossed on my XP system because of MSDN?

Changing what? Try using RegMon to find out where the unwanted
reference is coming from. My guess is that it is the value sometimes
used by WindowsUpdate or IE itself when they want to show you
something first and then allow you to use your Home page.

What happens if you allow that first link to happen
and then subsequently open another instance with About:Blank
and then press Alt-Home on it?
