Start Menu subfolders not visible for restricted users

All that about vista 32bits business installation.

All users have to be permitted to access some folder in the start menu.
Physically this folder placed in c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu......

Read access privileges granted to all users, for elements in this
directory and that folder:
that folder-> properties-> security tab

However following attempt fails always:
that folder-> properties-> security tab -> advanced button -> edit
button (the option "current inheritable privileges of child objects with
inheritable privileges of this object to be replaced " is not checked)
-> checking this option -> apply button -> option gets unchecked again.

Why must it be so ?

What is missing for this folder to be visible for all users ?

By the way, Vista introduces significant innovations regarding
system folders, their names, placement and number.

What is the best document/manual for read to get familiarized
with Vista system folders ?

I don't know of any one particular resource that covers it well. My method
of learning is the "tear it apart and then try to figure out how to put it
back together" method, and that doesn't work too well for most.

Hi,

No help, still the same. Have also tried to place it in the profile
of that user who needs this access. No success.
The issue that applying access privileges for all sub-objects fails
after pushing the apply button repeats in this situation.

Depends on the installer and whether it sets up for all user accounts or
just the one under which it is installed.

Personalized to the user.

and

To build a profile from.

Don't know, I don't work for them.

What is the former, and what is the latter best for ?

You should only be using\modifying the ones under C:\Users\etc.
