start menu issue

I have recently installed XP Pro (sp2) and I've noticed that when I open the
start menu, at the top I see my name but not my icon. How can I view my icon
next to my name please? I've searched google for 'show user start menu icon'
etc but have found nothing. Thanks for any help here.

Is the Welcome Screen enabled, and are you using XP theme?

Nore sure if that just went through. Welcome screen is 'disabled' and I'm
using a 'Modified' Windows XP theme.

That explains the problem. The Start Menu picture will disappear if you disable the Welcome Screen.
