Start Menu Icons

The Outlook Express icon in the start menu does not
display properly. The icon for the program does not
show, instead it is a Windows icon used when the host
program is unknown. How can I fix this.

Right click on the icon and select properties. On the popup click the Change Icon... button. If that doesn't give you a list of Outlook Express icons to choose from, use the Browse... button to navigate to C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe. After selecting that program you will see the correct icons to choose from.

When I right click, I get the following: read e-mail,
internet properties, remove from list. Remember, this is
the icon in the start menu list on the top left-hand
side. I apologize if I did not make that clear in the
previous post. Thank you for your continued assistance.

That is a special icon linking to another shortcut. The easiest way to fix that is by removing it, then recreating it. To recreate it you find a shortcut to Outlook Express (probably have one in Start - All Programs or in the Quick Launch bar), right click the shortcut and select Pin to Start menu. This creates the shortcut at the top of the Start Menu instead of in the list of recent programs, and should have the correct icon as long as the shortcut did.
