standby/screensaver

Two questions: First, I no longer have the option to put my
computer on standby or hibernate. I've tried using all the
cds that came with my comp, no luck. Also, my screensaver
never comes up. Anyone know anything???

First check the settings under Start / Control Panel / Power Options.

Did anything happen between it working and not? New hardware, new software,
software update, change of settings... Any info would be useful.
