standby/ restart problem?

I am using Win XP pro without SP2. For the last couple of days my system
hasn't been resuming from the standy mode as it should be. It goes into the
standby mode ok by when I try to bring it back (by pressing any key) the
whole system REBOOTS and gives me an error message saying that the system has
recovered from a fatal error. I tried to use system restore but that didn't
work.

Could anybody help please??
 
Hi - Just as to respond to your message - I am sorry to say I have no idea
what the problem is.....my computer does all sorts of crazy things !!!
