Standby problem

Whenever I resume my computer from standby mode (whether by pressing
mouse, keyboard, or power button), Windows (XP Pro, SP2) goes into
shutdown instead of resuming normally. I'm always entering standby mode
manually.

Is it possible that I simply messed something in Windows or BIOS
settings, or will I have to reinstall Windows? My board is Gigabyte
965P-DS3.

Thanks,
Z

I would think that by pressing the power button you have effectively shut
down the puter, since standby mode leaves the power on. I don't know about
the other two you mentioned, but I always press the space bar to resume.

I've tried pressing spacebar, same thing happens.

Pressing the power button is a legitimate way of waking a PC from standby.
