standby requiring password issue

recently installed microsoft .net to allow another app to
run. now the system sies into standby mode and requires
password logon to resume. also seems to be going into
standby sooner than should. have checked all options in
power options.

i think this has to do with the .net installation but
would like to keep it as i need it for another app to run
properly.

any suggestions?

Both Power Options and screen saver settings have a place to check/uncheck
for requiring a password on resume.
