unwanted standby

I seem to be having the opposite problem from most people regarding standby.
My Power Option setting for entering standby mode is set to "never", however,
if I leave my machine for 5 minutes, when I come back I am required to
re-enter my password before I can resume work. I am assuming that the machine
is going into standby mode. Any ideas on how to reset the timeout to
something more reasonable, like 30 minutes?

maybe your BIOS is set to go on standby in 5 minutes. Check out your BIOS
setings about Power saving and see if that helps.
much love

Hi,

Control Panel/Display/Screensaver tab, change the "wait" time, or uncheck
the option "on resume, display welcome screen".

Control Panel/Power options/advanced, uncheck "prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby".
