Standby Internet

About 2 weeks ago when I resume from standby my internet will not work.
It works fine before I went to standby but after coming out of it I have no
internet connectivity and have to reboot then it will work again. I've
started just leaving the system on but would prefer to find the problem and
fix it. I'm using XPP-SP2 fully updated and a cable connection.

In Standby mode, the NIC is getting disabled (so you cannot get or send any
traffic in that power saving mode). The problem is that the driver for your
NIC doesn't reinitialize the NIC when the OS comes out of Standby mode. See
if there is a newer version of the driver for your NIC card (or mobo drivers
if it is an onboard network controller).
