Standby/hibernate issues

Using Toshiba's power mgmt for my laptop I have setup for unit to run in
standby. When I close lid it now beeps and turns off completly, whereas
before it stayed on and after lifting lid and pressing on button it did not
have to completly restart . I haven't made any changes except to try and
figure this out by changing the settings in the power mgmt.

I believe that some times there are power management options available in the
Laptops BIOS.

Hi,

Check power options in the control panel, on the advanced tab look in the
lower section on the power button options.

I have it set to standby, when I close the lid, and power off when I push the
button
