Run a script of batch file on entering standby

I would like to run a script or a batch file when entering standby (on
closing the lid of my laptop or pressing the power button). The script is
going to sync data from my hard drive to a NAS device, before the wireless
card is disabled upon entering standby. Can this be done? Any help will be
appreciated. Thanks!!

BattStat v0.98 has a "Run command on resume / power status change"
option that might do what you want. It is a good utility for HDD and CPU
temps too. And of course battery information.

Bill, Thanks for the response. This tool kind of does similar to what I want
but not exactly. It seems to run both at power up and power down, or just at
power up. I want it to run only during power down. Thanks for your help.

Well you can always cancel a batch by putting a pause command into a
batch file by CTRL-C when it comes out of standby. I am sorry, I can't
think of anything else. Maybe somebody else has an idea.
