Standby "Hangs" after SP1 Install

Need your help! XP Home hangs in Stand-by, I get the
message ....going into standby... and it just hangs and
never does go into stand-by. I have to manually shut
down the computer at that point. It all started after I
installed SP1 update. It would go into standby before
the update but not now.
Thanks for any help, while not earth shaking it still is
a pain.
