My friend has installed a full retail version of English WinXp Pro (version
2002?) and when shutting down the pc, you are nromally prompted with a
"Standby, Turn Off and Restart" dialog box. However,
"Standby" is disabled (greyed out). How can this be abled?
In the control panel under the Power otpions menu | Advanced tab, there are
also not choices at all present for "Standby" from the dropdown boxes
reffering to the "Power Buttons". The power scheme tab also shows no sign of
"Standby" compared to my system that shows "System Standby" & "System
Hibernates" with drop down boxes.
Is this installable or fixable to use the Standby Function.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
other info:
The (Japanese notebook) disk is formatted into two partitions. The original
OS is Japanese and this new English full install recently. Both systems
operate.
