If so, then you installed/updated a driver that is non-compliant with the
standby function. To resolve the issue, use the rollback button on the
driver tab of the piece of updated or installed hardware's properties in
Device Manager.
If not, then one or more of your drivers does not support standby. The
solution here is usually to update the system hardware's drivers directly
from the manufacturer.

thanks, i rolled it back, but the button is still grayed
out, maybe it will work after reboot, never used it, but
i like everything to work thats suppose to. think it was
a nvidia update 45.23 that screwed things up. and yes it
worked before.
