Have a look a the "Power Management" tabs in Device Manager for the keyboard
and mouse, to ensure that "Allow this device to bring the computer out of
standby" is checked
Correction: It works fine on one of my machines, but crashes on the other. I
did a complete format and reinstall, so there was no residual issues. It
seems my hardware is incompatible (not sure which part).
My system is as follows:
Athlon XP 2200+
Soltek 75-FRN2-RL Motherboard (nForce2) - I am using onboard sound
Seagate SATA 120GB
512MB 333MHz RamOS DDR RAM
Albatron GeForceMX 480-EL (ie a 440 with 8x AGP)
Maxtor 20GB 5400rpm (this is where it is installed)
BTC 55x24x52x CD burner
Genius Athena case with stock PSU (350W)
This issue happened on this machine with the Beta version and I sent it to
bug report, and I thought it was fixed in RTM as it worked on the other
machine.
I found the culprit, it was my Maxtor 20GB hard drive. It cannot spin back up
fast enough for SP2 to detect it, so it just ignores it.
