SQL Server 2005

Hi,

How can I install BCM 2007 without installing SQL Server 2005 Express?
On my Test-PC I already had a valid installation of SQL 2005 Express: BCM
2007 didn't took notice of this instance. I was not able to see an option, to
install BCM 2007 without the database part.

There's no mechanism to prevent setup from creating the default
instance.

However, what instance BCM uses is controlled by a registry key in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM

My problem is that the install cannot get past the installation of SQL 2005 -
BCM always fails even after several different downloads. No indication of
what is causing the problem so no idea what to do differently. (Poor
installation error message IMHO.) Besides, this is a brand new 2007 app
which needs support from a 2 year old SQL product? Probably running DOS
underneath it all!
