SQL Update not working

BCM 2007 installed. SQL Server 2005 Express Installed (I assume with
original BCM installation).

Recently, Microsoft trying to load SP# release of SQL Server 2005 Express
(KB955706) but when update runs I keep getting message that it cannot install
it. Same thing occurs when I try to apply SP3 manually. Can't figure out
why. Any thoughts?

Also, since conversion to IE8 my history records no longer appear. Does BCM
and IE8 get along or is this coincidence?

I don't think BCM uses IE directly. Although it appears to ask Windows
to dislay a url or HTML files in certain places (e.g. the info page
after sharing a database).

I have heard murmurs that IE8 changed security settings on some
machines, and if so, that could affect BCM behavior.
