SpyWare Stormer Help on removing please!!

A friend (yes it was a friend not me) of mine purchased Spyware
Stormer. I think she got fed up with it constantly popping up whilst
she was on the net. Unfortunately after installing this total piece
of c%$p she is no longer able to access the net at all. I have
uninstalled the programme still with no luck. The O/S is XP Home SP2
and I have checked the addins on IE6 and nothing appears to be
running.

Symptoms

1. Open IE6. If a connection isn't there then the dial-up box comes
up. An successfull connects to the ISP. IE6 then says page not
found.
2. Open the connection to the ISP indepedently, IE6 still says that
the page cannot be found.
3. Tried installing Mozilla, still no luck, same problem as IE6.

Type in a new website into the address bar and the response is
instantaneous, with no apparent attempt of the dial up connection to
even access the net.

Anybody any ideas what I should be looking for, as obviously something
is still hanging around.

It may also have installed crudware that is the cause of the Winsock
stack becoming damaged. Make sure all of it's remnants have been
removed by downloading and installing AdAware SE and Spybot.
