Spyware scan causes crashes

Any spyware I have installed causes a crash about halfway thru' scan? Anyone
any suggestions?

Hi

Restart in safe mode and scan again, choose full scan with
all options checked.

Safe mode:
Just click the F8 key as the PC is starting, just before the MS Windows
flag
screen appears
