spyware removal utilities

I have picked up some pest and bugs downloading from a
site that was suppose to help get rid of those problems.It
has completely taken over my system.Windows 98SE.It was
like being attacked by a swarm of angry bees. The POP UP
adds came at me that fasT. I need a advice on how to get
rid of all spyware and adware activities. I can not even
remove it in the customairy way with the add/remove
method.I also keep getting a message telling me that the
Winservn is busy when trying to get on the web. For
sometime I was not even able to access Internet Explorer,
or Microsoft's website.
