Spyware-PurityScan and DownloadWare

I have run Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of known spyware on our home computer, but it will not get rid of PurityScan and Downloadware. I also tried Ad-aware, but it doesn't find these. Any ideas what these are and how I can get rid of them. I've looked in my add/remove programs and don't see these names. I also did see things under my add/remove programs which I wasn't sure if I need...like Sidebar Search? Search OS, SBM OS and BackWeb. Any help on any of these items is much appreciated. Just to let you know I have recently upgraded to Windows XP.

Don't know what version of "Spybot" you are using but the latest version
(1.3), deals with PurityScan, at least it does on my machine.
