Spyware on ie

I've recently experienced the launching of the Search
companion while visiting a tripod.com site. This is the
only domain where the search bar launches. I currently
have Spybot,Lavasoft Ad-ware 6, and Panicware installed.
My OS is Windows XP and I have already changed the
internet search behavior to classic internet search.
Please advise.

Tricia,
The latest incarnation of Panicware's (free) popup stopper is a
problem - if you have the freeware edition installed, remove immediately.

No joy with SpyBot and Ad-aware, run HijackThis.
