spyware download

when downloading spyware I get to the point of getting the
system checked for proper Microsoft program (I have XP) and
receiving the "code" to continue. I press continue and
wait for the system scan and the code and nothing happens.
Why?

I don't know. I would recommend retrying the download, and simply not
choosing the validation path--you will be allowed to download even if you
don't go through the validation process.
