Greetings:
I installed a trial version of Spyware Doctor. I ran a scan and it came
back telling me I had several spyware infections rated as "High" risk
type.
The problem is that I can't find the locations listed for these
supposed infections on my computer. Not only can I not find the
specific files.....the directories don't even exist!
Example:
"C:\Documents and Settings\(user name)\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\(filename)"
No such directory as "Content.IE5" and besides, I don't even run IE as
my browser!
The scan has periodically run several times on its own and each time it
comes back with a list that contains a few "high" risk type
infections....but always in locations that don't even exist on my
computer. I've tried every means I know of to "unhide" directories and
files but to no avial.
The only way to remove these "infections" is to pay for a full version
of the software. I'm starting to wonder if this is just some sort of ad
spoof to scare me into to paying for a full version.
Anyone else experience anything like this?
