Spyware Definitions not downloading

I have three computers with MSAS Beta1. Two of them
report they have Spyware Definitions version 5723 (dated
today, June 7). The third reports definition version
5721 (dated June 3). AutoUpdater is not retrieving the
latest defs on that computer. Also, when I manually
check for updates, it reports that the latest software
and spyware defs are already installed.

Microsoft, you have a bug in your update routines. My
third computer does not have the latests defs (according
to my other two) but it keeps reporting that it does.

All three computers: Windows XP (2 home, 1 Pro). The one
that is not updating is a Home edition. All three are in
my house on the same high speed internet connection
(there are no network or internt connectivity issues on
any of the computers, all is well in that aspect).

Update:

I closed MSAS GUI and reopened and checked the def
version again. Now it reports the correct version (5723)
downloaded June 5 (two days ago). (I did not
stop/restart the services nor agents, just the GUI).

This is a bug, but not a download/update bug. It is a
reporting bug. The interface did not report the correct
information on the first display. It showed def version
5721 dated June 3. Tried "check for updates" several
times to get 5723 - it said I already had the latest defs
(though the GUI reported an older version than the latest
available version). Closed the GUI, reloaded it, and it
reports def version 5723 dated June 5.

Mind you - this computer got the latest updates TWO DAYS
ago, yet the GUI this morning (June 7) reported an older
version of the defs that were downloaded on June 3.

I hope the spyware scans report more accurate results
than the spyware defs checker. I will watch this closely
with Beta2.

We are aware of the GUI not reporting the correct version. I will update
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892519 within a day
of us releasing signatures so you can verify the current signatures are
installed.
