Noticed my cpu being busy, ran proccexp and it showed Spybot's teatimer
using 10 -20% cpu. Does it all the time??? Is this normal?

I have not noticed a problem here. My usage is currently about 1%. It
seems to be normal to see 100% usage when it loads but this should fall
off. Apparently there are reports that it does not always fall off.

What version do you have?

How much RAM and what CPU?

What anti-virus and firewall is installed? Any other real time
anti-spyware products running?

Running Disk CleanUp ( or cCleaner ) before a complete scan to remove
temporary files will speed up the Spytbot scan.
